Jack’s Travel Mug Goes to Washington

After we put out the call for your travel mug you answered! We started getting photos from readers who have travel mugs that roam the world, magically refilling with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, beer (it has been done), and memories!

In today’s Travel Mug installment we have Jack in Washington just steps from the Nation’s Capitol with an oldie-but-goodie blue and white mug circa 1996.

And if you think Jack is a little similar looking to another Coyote you would be right!  Yes, it is Tom’s slightly older (slightly wiser) brother!

So if you have a photo please send it in (we’ll add it to the map), or bring it by the gallery to say hi (maybe it will magically fill with something!) And if you need a new mug, before your next adventure order one here.

Happy Travels,
Coyote East

We want your travel mug photos

Today Amy from NYC sent in this beauty, from the Natural History Museum’s Sunday Farmers Market on Columbus and 80th St. The Upper West Side is in full Spring bloom.

If you have a photo of a traveling mug send it to us here and we will add it to the big map.

Until the next adventure,

The Travel Mug heads to Turkey, Not Constantinople

The Travel Mug has headed to Istanbul, not Constantinople. Here is the mug waiting to head out on the town:

And here it is in front of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (The Blue Mosque)!

And for any They Might Be Giants fans out there (or Tiny Tunes) here is a video circa 1988.

The Travel Mug likes to party, SXSW-style

First, we found out that the Travel Mug likes BBQ, and now we have discovered it likes beer too (surprise, surprise).

Here is a shot of the Travel Mug, The Travel Mug’s Companion’s mug (Aron), and a can of Texas’ own national brew, Lone Star.

The Travel Mug was seen out and about at South by Southwest in Austin, TX. In this photo the Mug is at the famed Parish bar and the blurry band behind is New Orleans’ only Trombone Shorty.

Want to see where the Travel Mug has been? Check out this map!

Have a Clay Coyote mug on the road? Snap a photo and send it in, we’ll add it to the map and the blog!

Happy Travels!

The Travel Mug loves BBQ

There is a rule in choosin’ a BBQ joint, “if it’s too pretty, keep walkin.’” BBQ joints, especially North Carolina BBQ joints, should have soot covered walls, tables oiled to perfection from sticky fingers, and crumpled paper napkins spilling out of the trash pail. Gritty. That’s how I describe the best BBQ joints around and Clyde Cooper’s is high on the list. Nestled between glassy skyscrapers and an empty lot, Coopers is blast from the past on the streets of Raleigh, North Carolina.

This weekend, for its maiden voyage, the Travel Mug made its way south.
