Continue your collection of dated Forest City Stockade pottery we create especially for the Stockade. Betsy will be on the Stockade Cabin porch with the big selection of this year’s pot or you can visit (me) Tom at the pottery and candle shop out in the Village to pick up your piece. While you’re out there, enjoy everything else the Stockade has to offer. Oh, are we going to tell you this year’s piece….you’ll just have to go see!
Many of the pioneer activities planned include a variety of demonstrations and games for the kids. An assortment of food and beverages will be available (buy your wooden nickles at the gate), and the volunteers dress in 1860′s-era clothing. I’ll be doing throwing demos and Betsy will be chatting. There’ll be, pottery, root beer, handmade ice cream (my favorite and I get to sneak around Betsy’s ‘ice cream rule’), shredded Buffalo sandwiches and fry bread. And so much, much more OH MY! This is a great kid event, too! Gather up the neighbor’s kids and bring ‘em out!
The stockade is this Saturday and Sunday-August 20-21. Visit their webpage for more information and directions.

Ice Cream only once a day! That’s the rule!
Not at te Stockade! Where elsewhere cold you get an unlimited supply of fresh, handmade ice cream? That’s what I make BIG bowls for!
What is the “ice cream rule”? It can’t be good. We hope to make it to the Stockade with the new one in tow.
